Need

This multi-utility company from the Emilia area was founded through an initiative involving eight neighbouring towns, to establish a company to tackle waste management with a fast, intelligent approach; a choice demonstrating transparency for constituents and maximum collaboration with local authorities and supervisory bodies.
Against this backdrop, the company has developed a series of major investments in machinery, plants, and systems (to the tune of several million euros), to ensure the efficiency of the waste management process required by the community. The extremely assorted nature of the products - which range from folding arm grab cranes to forklifts, to telescopic cranes, and even production plants and automated waste sorting systems - means rationalising the data measurement and digital control processes is a major job.

Solution

WIL worked on several fronts. The machines were analysed and the official, recognised data exchange methods were identified; next, everything was incorporated into the operational production processes and an in-depth study of the various work areas was performed. This study was then followed by market research to find the best solution for the kind of business in question and the selection of appropriate technology partners. The control system was then created and delivered, through extensive project management activity, on time and on budget.
