Analysis and design of an innovative IT system for integrated management and optimisation of customer care and rental services

Need

This family-run Group from the Piedmont region - which operates nationwide and reports a turnover up to €65 million and over 300 employees - specialises in rental and assistance services for industrial equipment (e.g. trucks, cranes, construction vehicles, forklift and self-propelled trucks, aerial platforms) - has decided to embark on an ambitious and innovative project to digitalise the management processes for its fleet of equipment, including  equipment booking, delivery, and collection, and maintenance and repair services.

Solution

Our involvement has resulted in the development of a prototype for a specific IT platform to manage and monitor critical business processes in everyday activities linked to rental, assistance, repair, collection and delivery of vehicles supplied to customers, working in three directions: use of innovative technologies such as satellite and geolocation devices, tablets, and smartphones; optimisation of remote connections between branches located around the country, with the development of web and Cloud-based technology; integration of the information system with the company's ERP management system.
