Analysis of business processes in order to identify whether the company meets eligibility requirements for the replacement of its ERP system.

Need

This historic Tuscan company has expanded into international markets in recent years. Specialising in the manufacture of industrial components for cooling systems, it felt it was advisable to invest in the optimisation of its internal processes in order to meet growing demand for its products. The management system, which is now somewhat dated, is no longer capable of supporting the company's growth process. It was decided, therefore, to replace the current ERP system with a more advanced system that would meet the company's needs. Warrant Innovation Lab was commissioned to determine the best solution on the market, based on the company's requirements.

Solution

First of all, the order management process underwent a complete analysis, from receipt of the sales orders, through the planning of production orders, to quality control along the entire production process, as well as warehouse and logistics process management, ending with the preparation of the shipment and the administrative and accounting management of orders. Next, the risk points needing action were identified and, alongside this, the requirements that the new solution had to meet were defined.
Finally, an in-depth analysis was conducted to determine which solutions were available on the market, as well as to define the selection criteria and assess - through the PoC - the various possibilities, choosing the one that best suited the company's needs.
