Need

This company, which specialises in the production of moulds and soles for renowned luxury shoe brands, currently employs approximately 250 workers and produces up to 10,000 pairs of soles, as well as various high quality injection-moulded articles for the textile industry. The company philosophy is oriented towards high levels of specialisation and training among dynamic staff, as well as the use of advanced machinery and only the highest quality raw materials.
Within this context, it has developed the need for more extensive, automatic control of its production facilities, boosting performance and quality while also ensuring accurate monitoring of resources employed (materials and people) and making the most of the benefits offered by the Industry 4.0 approach.

Solution

WIL's involvement was structured over various stages, ranging from establishing the functional requirements to choosing the most appropriate and practical approach to carry out the project. Production processes were analysed, digitalisation areas were identified, and actions prioritised. A design approach was developed and then implemented together with the technology partner chosen for the operational implementation. The project was managed by aligning the needs of all the stakeholders and keeping the focus on the final objectives and available resources (money and timing).
