Need
Part of a multinational group (€2 billion turnover, €500 million nationally), this Italian company offers B2B services with particular focus on sanitation, catering, safety, security, and technical services for national and international companies. As regards the catering services, the company came to us with its need to increase the efficiency of transportation of its trolleys containing meals destined for company canteens, by increasing the maximum load volume and reducing the weight transported in order to reduce the cost of the service.
Solution
WIL's contribution involved devising solution concepts for modular transport systems that reduce the weight transported and increase the maximum load volume. Starting with an analysis of the initial problem, we identified potential solutions by seeking innovative proposals from Innovation Lab participants through internationally recognised problem-solving methods (TRIZ), which resulted in extremely satisfied clients and two patent applications to submit.
