Need
This company, which specialises in the storage, distribution, and sale of dairy products (i.e. hard cheeses), is a go-to name nationally and in the Veneto region, with a turnover of €170 million. It set out the need to reduce the environmental impact of its products and production processes by implementing new technologies, sourcing new materials, and redesigning existing processes.
Solution
The project was developed in two stages. First of all, the most relevant production processes were identified and mapped, and the environmental footprint assessed through LCA analysis. Secondly, we moved on to the assessment of the market and research conditions (in terms of patents and scientific publications) through an analysis of national and international databases using advanced and innovative tools, which enabled us to identify new materials and technologies to improve the environmental impact of the processes under analysis.
