Conception, design, and development, using TRIZ methodology, of a new IoT security device.

Need

This Bergamo-based company specialises in the production of individual safety devices, in particular fall arrest systems for work in elevated positions and confined spaces. In agreement with their research and development team, the owner of the business came to us with the need to develop a new product line for monitoring working conditions and, consequently, increase the level of safety in the workplace for operators.

Solution

Our involvement was structured over various stages, from the definition of functional requirements to the validation of the prototype within a test environment, including technology scouting and development. More specifically, within the context of Internet of Things, we applied TRIZ methodology to develop a new digital device for monitoring working conditions. The system consists of a sensorised device for measuring parameters (such as the operator's position) and a cloud-based data processing platform.

Benefits

  • Consolidation of market share due to increased number of features offered by the product.
  • Increased turnover and chance to enter new markets through the development of the new product.
  • Better safety for workers.
  • Tracking of historical data and option for predictive analysis and maintenance scheduling.
