Automotive 4.0

Analysis, study, and certification of construction equipment products.

Need

This company is a multinational leader in the global automotive industry, operating in multiple markets (€25 billion turnover, 80,000 employees), ranging from the transport of people to b2b services. More specifically, the "construction" division of the Italian company (approximately €600 million turnover) needed to understand whether and how their products could be sold as Industry 4.0 compliant and therefore enable their customers to take advantage of the incentives offered by the Italian government, as well as being able to make the most of the benefits of the Industry 4.0 approach.

Solution

WIL's involvement focused on analysing the various products in the operational process stage, from both a technical and a positioning perspective.
A series of improvements were identified which would allow data exchange and above all lend meaning and additional value following inclusion within a production ERP system. The Industry 4.0 compliance certificate was then prepared, to be included with product sales documents.
This will allow customers to add the certificate to their documentation once they have produced the item ordered from them, thereby facilitating the implementation of external systems and any applications for Industry 4.0 benefits.
